Thursday Exercise: Equilibrium (2013-05-02)
Equilibrium is a situation where the FORCES are BALANCED.
There are two kinds of equilibrium: STATIC and DYNAMIC.
Here you will see them both!
Using the simulation linked to this image, set up the conditions as follows:
Turn ON friction;
Click on "Graph Velocity";
Push the filing cabinet forward, but not enough to put it in motion.
To get credit for this warm-up,
Take a
screenshot
of the whole window;
Annotate
it by typing "STATIC = NOT MOVING, EQUILIBRIUM = BALANCED FORCES";
Choose file, and Submit!
